Anubis Dance Collective brings together professional and student dancers from Mt. Vernon and Tacoma to celebrate diverse cultural expressions. They perform at community events, fairs, and markets throughout Western Washington State.

Nona Mizuta (Miz Shimeez)
ADC South Instructor -Nona began her passion for dance at age 3 with ballet and tap classes. Over more than two decades, she expanded into modern jazz, lyrical, modern ballet, and ballroom dance. After a break, Nona discovered bellydance in 2003 and immediately embraced it. There, she met her best friend and partner, Shelley. In May 2005, they founded Jeweled Scarab Dance Company. For 20 years, they taught and performed across Washington, the western US, and internationally. They developed the professional troupe and a talented student group called Diamonds in the Rough. Jeweled Scarab Dance Company officially retired on December 31, 2025.
Today, Nona continues to dance, teach, and share her love of bellydance in Puyallup, Spanaway, and Lakewood. She’s also a founding member of Anubis Dance Collective. Her style stands out by blending various dance forms into a unique fusion. Nona values the camaraderie among dancers and the way bellydance lets her express music through movement. She aims to be the best instructor and performer, staying true to the dance and following her heart.

ADC North Instructor – With over 32 years of experience, specializing in Folkloric, Romani, Tribal, and Fusion Belly Dance styles. ADC North Instructor – I have been dancing on and off for about 21 years. My journey began as a search for an exercise that would keep me motivated. I quickly fell in love with the dance, the costumes, and the vibrant community! Melody and I co-teach a combined beginner belly dance class on Thursday evenings in Marysville, WA. With two instructors in one class, we ensure everyone receives personalized attention and benefits from a diverse range of expertise!
