All and any level of participation is helpful and helps raise awareness to the signs of abuse. \nWHAT IS A SHIMMY MOB?\nFor the past 15 years\, on World Belly Dance Day (the second Saturday in May)\, teams of belly dancers around the world\, come together do a flash mob type of performance held annually to raise awareness of the signs domestic abuse. \nWHEN DOES THE WORLDWIDE EVENT TAKE PLACE?\nAlways on the second Saturday in May\, world bellydance day. (May 9th\, 2026) \nWHO CAN BE PART OF SHIMMY MOB?\nEVERYONE is welcome to participate. Anyone who wants to be part of this event\, in any capacity (dancer\, sponsor\, or volunteer) and has officially registered on shimmymob.com can participate. You don’t have to DANCE to be involved. ❤ No dance experience necessary either!! We will teach you the choreography!! \nHappy Dancing!!
